Shock As Newry Person Pronounces Letter ‘U’ Correctly

There was widespread shock today after the discovery of a Newry native who pronounced the letter ‘U’ correctly we can reveal.

Newry folk are known to replace the letter ‘U’ with the letter ‘O’ according to a recent Queen’s University study.

Professor of Language at Queen’s Dr Richard Kuntz told Newry Spud:

“The mere notion of a Newry person pronouncing the letter U is quite spectacular.

For instance if one wanted to purchase a burger in Newry parlance it is ‘Giz a Boorger boss’ or if one was yo travel to Lurgan it would be ‘I’m away to Loorgan baah’. Quite astonished to find a normal speaking native. Breathtaking.
