Joy As Dundalk’s ‘Maxi’ Kavanagh Pronounces ‘Thirty Three and a Third’ and not ‘Turty Tree and a Turd’

There were scenes of bemusement and sheer joy today at the Newry Bureau De Change on Hill Street after Dundalk man Mark ‘Maxi’ Kavanagh pronounced ‘Thirty Three and a Third’ and not ‘Turty Tree and a Turd’ we can reveal.

Kavanagh best known as ‘Maxi’ is Dundalk’s version of Simon Cowell through his Maxi Taxi Talents show in which he encourages talented performers to sing as he records it live in his taxi before showing it to his many Facebook fans.

We spoke with the manager of the Newry Bureau De Change who was receiving treatment for a slight stroke after hearing Maxi speak perfect English and not in that fucking awful ‘Dundalk Mexican’ hybrid accent told Newry Spud:

“We were overjoyed that at least one Dundalk person could speak using the letter ‘H’ in their very limited and almost child like vocabulary.

Maxi is a total hero for learning how to speak to the people outside of Dundalk and we hope others will follow suit.”

Meanwhile Maxi told Newry Spud:

“I don’t Tink it’s a big deal at all. Tanks to all Tat believed in me.”
