Newry & Armagh Sinn Féin Westminster election candidate Mickey Brady has outlined his major manifesto pledge in what is seen as a ‘triumph’ for ‘ageing’ men we can reveal.
Brady has said he will work tirelessly to see that men of his age and younger will be able to get ‘Just For Men’ hair dye on the NHS as a free prescription.
Brady addressing a large assembled group of Sinn Féin supporters in the Canal Court Hotel spoke emotionally and in a ‘heartfelt’ manner about the issue telling the crowd:
“As a hair dying man for almost 2 decades I feel now is the time to address the issue on a national level. For many years you wouldn’t know which Mickey you would see when meeting me; the greying gentleman or the more progressive dark-haired slightly tragic handsome looking figure.”
The crowd reacted emotionally as many other men who have struggled with covering their greyness stood up crying and clapping for their election hopeful.
One onlooker Turlough Murphy told Newry Spud:
“I’m overcome with emotion tonight. This is Sinn Féin and particularly Mickey taking a stand for us elders. Tiocfaidh ar la!”
